Give the editor the same commands

Give each seat a name like grok-cairn. Use that name on one project only. Names that start with e2e- are for tests and are not kept.

cairn bootstrap

That writes three things: a cairn entry in .mcp.json, a marked section in AGENTS.md, and four short onboarding memories. The editor starts the server only after you trust the folder and reload MCP.

• Grok: trust the folder, then run /mcps refresh.
• Claude and Cursor: approve the server and reconnect.

Until that happens, the cairn command in the terminal still works. A GUI editor may not see ~/.local/bin. Put the full path to cairn-mcp in .mcp.json if the tool does not start.

The tools match the commands: store_memory, retrieve_memory, list_memories, get_memory, archive_memory, restore_memory, plus howto, whoami, gc, export, import, and ingest. cairn serve is not a tool.
